Macarons and Macaroons

Melissa does not know the difference between macarons and macaroons! let me explain because the 'o' makes all the difference.

Here we have a Macaroon, a favorite to chocolate and coconut lovers everywhere.
Notice it rough texture but sweet combination of chocolate and coconut.

These are Macarons, one 'o'. A creamy filling, similar to a custard, in between two crisp cookies.
It come in a variety of flavors and colors and is very different from a macaroon.

The 'o' makes the difference.

Hot Hollywood Actors!

I think I've been blogging long enough to do this. And what do you expect? I'm a girl! Here are some of the choice boys of the cinema:
1. Chris Riggi (played Jacob White in 'Vampires Suck')
waaaayyy cuter than Taylor Lautner! Look at those abs!

2. Matt Lanter (played Edward Sullen in 'Vampires Suck')
a bit of a baby face but still so cute!

3. James Marsden (played Corny Collins in 'Hairspray')
He can sing, he can dance, and he is a total dreamboat!

4. Mark Salling (plays Puck from 'Glee')
another triple-threat! plus he's a bad-boy, and who doesn't love that?!

5. Jude Law (played Watson in 'Sherlock Holmes')
hot! and who doesn't love an accent???

6. Bradley Cooper (played Phil in 'The Hangover')
a little older but he's definitely still got it!

Thats my list for now! I'll be adding more later! Comment if you know any more!

Paroxysmal Supra Ventricular Tachycardia

Last friday we found out my younger brother has PSVT or Paroxysmal Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. What is this? Well, its when the electrical pulses that tell which parts of your heart to beat at certain times get really mixed up and go really fast. My brother, who is thirteen, said it feels like a base drum pounding really hard and fast in your chest. It happened after he ran a few laps in PE when he felt this. He went pale, even his lips were colorless. My mom picked him up and took him to the ER where he was hooked up to leads, and EKG's and had his blood drawn. This process as very scary for him, of course, but he never stopped being his hilarious self. They turned on the heart monitor but he wasn't quite hooked up yet so all he saw on the screen was a flat line. This freaked him out a bit and he turned to my mom and asked, "have I flat-lined?" with a look of terror on his face. After they drew his blood he said, "I feel lopsided".
Turns out the only ways to lower your heart rate are quite funny! One way is to lie on your back and put your feet in the air. Another is to make the muscle movements as if you are about to poop (my friend Loser likes that one a lot) and another is to splash cold water on your face. Naturally my brother was slightly horrified to find out he would have to do these in public if this happened again. He then asked, "isn't there some sort of needle I could stab into my thigh or something?!"
So if you ever see someone doing these, don't judge. In fact you might want to call an ambulance for them.
Tachycardia... Ahh... Noooooooooo....

Melissa the Camel

Let me give you some background info; my friend Melissa absolutely positively LOVES ice! Yesterday, and just yesterday, she ate one hundred sixty one pieces of ice. While she gorged herself on frozen water I just happened to be watching the TV series Planet Earth. I learned about animals in the Gobi Desert and a funny thing about the Gobi Desert is that its covered in snow.  The animal that reminded me of Melissa most was the dromedary that lived there. This camel ate two gallons of snow each day! It actually limits itself because (pay attention here, Melissa) its dangerous and possibly fatal to eat too much ice! I mean snow... However Melissa does not have that much self control. Most camels drink about thirty to fifty gallons of water per day and the Gobi camel forces itself to stop at 2. Don't you think that camel feels like a loser? But it stops at 2 gallons anyways (ahem!). So, my friend Melissa the camel, please stop eating so much ice because you have a nice smile and I don't think you want dentures at age 20! Also, when we finally meet Lady Gaga she will scream when you smile and we will never get French boyfriends who will fly us to France every Autumn and Spring!
Camels in Gobi Desert stopping to eat ice!

Melissa, do you want this to happen?

Hobos and Highschoolers

I love hobos. They are our 'unsung' heros. They are the only people who can live on their own and be self-sufficient in their own hobo-y way. My good friend (lets call him Loser) loves hobos even more than me! He will converse with these mysterious creatures daily, or whenever he finds one. They call him 'the man' and 'cool' when he is not. He is a Loser.
A few months ago my mom, who is a nurse, did surgery on a poor hobo. Why? Because some vicious teens beat up this melancholy man for pure joy. So I say to you teens, how would you like it if I brutalized you to the point of hospitalization? I bet you wouldn't like it very much at all! So lay off the hobos for pete's sake!

*my friend Loser isn't an actual loser, he is very cool (usually) its just a joke we have*
